By Ilan Ben Zion | Associated PressJERUSALEM — One of the oldest surviving biblical manuscripts, a nearly complete 1,100-year-old Hebrew Bible, could soon be yours — for a cool $30 million.The Codex Sassoon, a leather-bound, handwritten parchment tome containing almost the entirety of the Hebrew Bible, is set to go on the block at Sotheby’s in New York in May. Its anticipated sale speaks to the still bullish market for art, antiquities and ancient manuscripts even in a worldwide bear economy.Sotheby’s is drumming up interest in hopes of enticing institutions and collectors to bite. SFPD veteran sergeant seriously injured by fallen tree

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A sergeant with the San Francisco Police Department has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a fallen tree on Tuesday, SFPD confirmed to KRON4. The news is another tragedy caused by Tuesday's storm, which was responsible for five deaths across the Bay Area. Video shows couch fly through the San Francisco sky The incident happened on the 800 block of Brotherhood Way, which is near the San Francisco Golf Club in the southwest part of the city. The sergeant was driving a department vehicle when he was struck before 3:38 p.m. San Francisco Fire Department personnel extricated the victim from his vehicle, and he was hospitalized. The sergeant is a 16-year SFPD veteran. Police said his family is asking for privacy and does not want to reveal his identity. LOS GATOS, Calif. (KRON) -- Officials received a call Tuesday that a mountain lion was spotted in a residential area of Los Gatos, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildfire (CDFW). The animal was spotted near Blossom Hill Road and Roberts Road.The mountain lion wandered in the area until Wednesday morning when the animal was spotted on a fence of a home. Before taking action, CDFW crews waited for the animal to leave the area on its own. That did not happen, and the mountain lion was tranquilized in the backyard. NEWARK, Calif. (KRON) -- An Alameda County Fire Department firefighter's body camera recorded a remarkable rescue in Newark of two victims pinned inside a truck during Tuesday's deadly rainstorm. Whipping winds ripped across the San Francisco Bay Area Tuesday afternoon, creating chaos and triggering hundreds of 911 calls for storm-related emergencies. One of the 911 calls reported that a pickup truck was smashed by a large eucalyptus tree in Newark.When emergency crews arrived, they discovered that the driver's legs were pinned.
